hair & beauty
The most beautiful makeup for any woman is her natural hair and her natural beauty.
In a world where there is SO much going on throughout each and every day, how do you keep up with all you have to do? Do you have an amazing memory that takes no exercise of writing things down? Or are you a go-with-the-flow type person that sees where the day takes you? Well, the first thing is to know who you are and what you need. I’d like to call myself an organized creative. I have my days when I set out time to allow my creative juices to flow, and sometimes it’s hard to put a time stamp on that. However, I like to use my time wisely, and that’s where my planner comes to my rescue. I should really call her my ride-or-die because she’s always in the front seat riding shot gun or not far from me lol. As creative as I am, I appreciate a daily to-do list and like to know what events and availability I have throughout the day, which gives me the opportunity to be prepared. Preparation is definitely key. In grade school, one of my favorite parts of the beginning of the year was getting our annual school planner. And although I didn’t use it like I should’ve lol, I still had the desire to be organized. Fast forward to now. I have fallen in love with reaping the benefits of being organized and the structure it adds to this fast pace life we live. So let’s get into it! Let me introduce you to my planner of the year:) Before using the planner I have now, I was a huge fan of the Lilly Pulitzer planners. I spotted one at Dillard’s and fell in love. It was sooo cute (elephants on the cover), it was hard back and it had a good amount of space for me to write my tasks for each day. (I need good room to write in my planners.) I rocked with Lilly Pulitzer for about three years and got others to fall in love with it too. However, I began to want a bit more within my planner. My mom then introduced me to The Happy Planner. I remember when she got her first Happy Planner. She was SO excited and made sure she had all the stickers, washi tape, and added in papers to make her planner just like she wanted it. I did not understand all the hoop-lah about this so called Happy Planner. But as I started searching for a new planner, she convinced me to give it a try, so I did. I am still within my first year of having my Happy Planner and I’m loving it!! This is what I like about it:
I could go on and on about why I am really enjoying my first time using The Happy Planner. If you’d like me to go into more detail and do a video on my Happy Planner, let me know in the comments.
I hope this encouraged you to have fun with your planning! Make it exciting. If you are in search of a planner, give The Happy Planner a try. You can find them at Michael’s, Joann Fabrics and their official website. What planner do you use?! Let me know in the comments! Xoxo, Abnormally AB

Women’s History Month is a month commemorating and encouraging the study, observance, and celebration of the vital role of women in American History. This week, I’ve chosen to celebrate female music that graces my ears, uplifts my moods, gets me through situations and most of all makes me proud to be a women! So let’s get into it! STORY TIME: My knees bumped against the edge of the stage as I stood front and center waiting patiently for Tank and the Bangas to grace the stage. As I waited, I enjoyed, clapped and sang along to the opening acts that came before them (@underdogcentral and @maggiekoerner) Before the band got on stage, I had taken my bathroom breaks and re-filled my drinks so there was no excuse for me to leave my spot. (Determined much?!) As I stood there with my feet planted, I looked to the right and saw that all the windows were fogged up as a result of how packed it was in the place. I just knew it was going to be a good night :) As the band got ready to come on stage, we saw them outside and began chanting for them, which got them GEEKED UP! The tone was set. We greeted them with yells, hand claps and smiles as they got on stage. As they began to play, we anticipated the big moment of Tarriona “Tank” Ball coming on stage. The time felt like it crept by (it wasn’t a long time at all lol). She finally came through the door and danced her way on stage like only Tank can. I was ready for this whole vibe they were about to give us all night…and boy, did they deliver. Now, yes, I do social media marketing, so getting footage of the show is necessary, however, with the day an age we live in now, holding a phone the whole time can take away from the true experience. I am really big on being present in the moment. I like to look, connect with, and see the band through my own original lens, not the lens of a camera or phone. This concert gave me everything and so much more. It wasn’t just a band singing, they provided us with an experience. This experience could only be described as one of a kind. From the flutes, to the poetry, to the saxophones, to the dancing, to the lyrics, I could go on and on. Most of all, we all enjoyed ourselves because the band enjoyed performing and we felt that energy. As we began to get towards the end of their set, I was already elated with joy, but the way my God works, He was like...”Nah, let me blow your mind.” Tank called me up on stage to dance with her (PAUSEEEE FOR SUPER DRAMATIC EFFECT!). Yep, you read right. She called me and another girl that were in the front row to dance with her. I said yes, like a 5 year old (smh), handed my phone to my friend that I enjoyed the concert with (Hey, Bianca!) and got on stage. I GOT MY ENTIRE LIFE!! Here’s the entire video of us dancing. (Thanks for the footage, Corbin!) Y’all, I was bursting like confetti after coming off the stage. What an experience. Besides dancing on stage, the other favorite part of my night was conversing with the band after the show. Cool, cool people. While we talked to them, we wished they had more time to explore our city but we learned how strenuous their tour/travel schedule is. It’s definitely something you have to love. To Tank and The Bangas:
Thank you. Thank you for all the planes, trains, and buses it took you to get to us and everywhere you go. I know the wear and tear and distance from your family and friends is a sacrifice. We thank them for lending y’all to us and I wish you much success in the future. Below, I will list more female artists that I listen to. Explore their music and enjoy! P.s.: Leave me some female artists suggestions below! I love finding new music. I came across this idea on Pinterest. Oh, by the way, hi, my name is Abigail and I’m addicted to Pinterest. (and the group says hiiii Abigail) I love a good D.I.Y. (do it yourself) project that’s unique, eye catching and inexpensive. If my calculations are correct, this project was under $50. To complete this project, here’s the items you’ll need: Hula hoops Spray paint: Silver/Gold Green Garland Flowers Green Floral Wire Wooden words This project took less than two hours. Here are the steps to achieve it: Step 1: Spray paint the hula hoops. It can be a task trying to get everything spray painted because it's round, but the garland will cover most of the hoop so don’t you fret, ok. (“Bring It On” voice) Wait for spray paint to dry. Step 2: Wrap garland around hula hoop. Buying garland was so much easier than having to wrap individual flowers on. Trust me. Go with the garland. Secure the garland with the floral wire. Sable (my dog) really wanted to be a part of the project too lol! Step 3: Place flowers on hoop The décor of the room these are going in is a farmhouse chic neutral vibe. But feel free to use a pop of color with your flowers. Secure the flowers with floral wire. Step 4: Hang hula hoops After you’re done decorating the hoops, place them on the wall to your liking. Side by side. Criss-crossed. Your choice. Step 5: Place words inside hoop. I wanted this room to have a warm and welcoming vibe. I chose words that I felt like would reflect that. YOU ARE DONE AND READY FOR YOUR HGTV DEBUT! CONGRATULATIONS!
Share pics of what you created! Xoxo, ABnormally Ab SO!
Aside from walking in my purpose and all that deep stuff, I live for a good D.I.Y. (do it yourself) project here and there. I find making certain things to be quite therapeutic for me. Also, when giving gifts, I like to make them personal when I have the time. On this page, I'll share various things that I've made in the past and will make in the future, such as bath scrubs, body butters, baby shower gifts, and even new recipes that I like to play around with when Chef Boy-R-Abi kicks in lol! Enjoy, get inspired from my creations and make them your own! |
