I love working out, but sometimes it can get repetitive.
I’ve been into physical fitness all my life, and changing things up in your workout regimen keeps things fun and interesting.
You wanna know what I’ve been doing lately to have fun during my workouts?
Surprised? Lol. Instagram and Tiktok are filled with various dance challenges. And if you really want to learn, hop onto YouTube and there is usually someone who has made a video breaking down the challenge and teaching you the moves step by step.
It’s basically a dance/Zumba class right in your living room!
By the time you learn the dance challenge, 30 to 45 minutes have passed by and you’re perspiring.
And there you have it, you’ve just gotten your 30 minute workout in for the day. It doesn’t have to be long, it just has to be intentional.
Here are a few dance challenges I’ve done in the past.
Remember to have fun and make sure we’re connected on social media so we can see each other’s challenges if we decide to post them.
Do you ever get stuck and not know what to get a friend, a relative, or someone asking you what YOU would like for Christmas? Well, I have you covered with a few amazing ideas:)
All of these suggestions are easily accessible and can be ordered online. Let’s get to it!
1) Luv Scrub
Luv Scrub is a mesh body exfoliator and may be one of the best purchases I’ve made in life.
(I’m so dramatic lol, but seriously.)
I bought this for me and my family sometime last year and my body thanks me everyday. Just like our face, the rest of our body needs proper exfoliation and this does just that.
Check out their site for more.
2) Ab's Ekstras
Do you or the person you're buying a gift for have a love for hair accessories?
Well look no further. Ab’s Ekstras handmakes premium luxury hair accessories made to compliment the queenly mane of curly, coily, and kinky hair.
Yes, this is my brand and I am so very proud of it:)
Oh, and by the way, we just introduced our new scrunchie headbands! It’s the perfect gift to unwrap on Christmas morning.
3) The Oil Bar
Who doesn’t love custom wellness products! My friend introduced me to this brand last year and I am so grateful she did.
The Oil Bar allows you to customize products just how you like them. From shea butters and body smoothies, to body oils, to fragrance mists! I just replenished my shea butter because my skin lovessss it especially during the winter season.
4) Fitness Gear
We all have fitness goals throughout the year, but those goals are intensified at the start of a new year. As January quickly approaches, get yourself or the person your shopping for ready to kick their workouts into gear.

Brown jacket from: www.fabletics.com
5) Gift Card
Listen, sometimes gift cards are the best gifts because that person can choose how they want to spend the money! You don’t have to worry about getting the right size or choosing the right scent. Leave the decision making up to them and get them a gift card tucked into a beautiful card.
I think it’s time for you to start shopping!
I’ve given you a head start on ideas, so get to shopping! And...if you wanna pick me up a gift card while you're shopping for them, I won’t argue with you Lol! Kidding.
This blog post is a quick review based on my experience from taking Goli Nutrition ACV gummies for 30 consecutive days.
I asked my supporters on social if they’d like a review and it was a unanimous YES!
So here we are! Let’s get started!
The Goli Gummy is an apple cider vinegar gummy.
This gummy is vegan, gelatin-free, organic and gluten-free, made in an FDA registered cGMP certified, and allergen-free facility, with the highest quality organic ingredients.
2 Gummies = 1 ACV shot.
Their motto: Taste the Apple. Not the Vinegar.
After Goli reached out to me in regards to trying their product, before saying yes, I did quite an amount of research.
I try my best to care of this body I call a home……besides my sweet tooth moments lol.
So I wanted to know more about it.
After doing my research and asking others, I decided to give the gummies a try and do a 30 day trial.
I took them every day. I didn’t miss a day.
Here is a list of Pros and Cons from my experience:
- They are nice, big sized gummies.
- There was no ACV burp/aftertaste that often happens with taking the liquid.
- I stayed healthy during the month I was taking them.
- Easy to remember to take because they tasted so good!
- *Each purchase supports the Vitamin Angels foundation. (more information below)
Goli is proud to support the work of Vitamin Angels, who continually strive to reduce malnutrition in children by giving them access to lifesaving vitamins and minerals.
Every purchase made provides a 1-for-1 Vitamin grant through our partnership with Vitamin Angels to provide a child in need with a 6-month supply of vitamins.
Let me also address weight loss/gain.
According to my clothes, I didn’t gain any weight during that time. However, if I take them again, I’ll pay closer attention to the results of body weight loss/gains.
I’d give this vitamin a chance.
If you appreciate the benefits of apple cider vinegar, but can’t get with the taste, I’d give these a try.
If you are interested in trying them, feel free to use my discount code:
for 5% off.
Let me know what you think! Have you ever tried these? Would you?
My main goal for sharing my experience is offering various ways to maintain great health for a great life. Remember, we are helpers one to another.
Each and every January, millions of people set various fitness goals.
According to the U.S News & World report in 2018,
80% of New Year’s resolutions fail by February. Most of those resolutions probably had
some fitness goal attached to it.
I applaud the effort of us wanting to be better each year, but the question is,
what actionable steps and
planning need to be put in place to stay motivated?
1st and foremost, keeping your “why“ top of mind is key. Your “why” is the reason you desire to work
out. The same way we all want to know our “why” or purpose in other aspects of our life, is the same
mindset we need to keep to help us stick with our fitness goals.
- I work out to keep up with my kids.
- I work out to combat the health conditions my family generally has.
- I workout to look good naked!
- I workout to feel good, physically and mentally.
Take a moment to think and write it down. (Better Memory Retention)
Do you have your fitness “why” in your head? Ok, keep that top of mind and let’s move on.
The best way to stay motivated in fitness is all about starting off with a good foundation. We do that
with creating S.M.A.R.T. goals.
S - SPECIFIC.
M - MEASURABLE.
A - ACHIEVABLE.
R - REALISTIC.
T - TIME SPECIFIC.
1 – I will replace 30 minutes of screen time (e.g. TV, social networking, gaming, watching videos) with 30
minutes of physical activity 2 times this week.
2 - I will walk briskly for 10 minutes every day this week.
3 - I will be physically active for 20 minutes 3 times this week (e.g. brisk walking, jogging, bike riding,
Make your goals realistic to your lifestyle and what will work best for you. And remember, nothing is set
in stone. If working out 3 times a week instead of 5 is more realistic to your schedule, don’t be afraid to
Making adjustments in my schedule is something I'm having to deal with right now.
I love working out in the morning. However, with my mornings being busier AND it being darker longer in the a.m., I can't run as early as I'd like. So, I'm having to adjust my workout schedule and make time during the afternoon or night.
It's not my favorite, but I'm making the adjustment.
Last but certainly not least, let’s talk accountability!!!
Find an efficient way to hold yourself accountable. A great example of accountability is finding an
accountability partner. Someone who will check on you on a regular basis to make sure you’re staying
on path. If you do better with self-accountability, find a fitness tracker to keep up with your progress or
a habit tracker that allows you to mark off something each day, giving you that sensation of
With all that being said, remember to be kind to yourself through your fitness process and don’t forget
to congratulate yourself for the small wins. (I didn’t eat that donut at work today!)
Have fun with it and remember your why.

The term “bucket list” comes from
the phrase 'to kick the bucket' which is a figure of speech meaning 'to die.'
Sorry to start off kind of deep there, but I like to know the reason behind what I’m saying instead of just repeating it because it’s a commonly used phrase we say in society.
So now that we’re all familiar with the term “bucket list,” let’s talk about our own!
I believe everyone has a list of things they desire to do before they expire. We all have these dream lists, but how often do we put action behind those dreams that we have?
Well, this past weekend on Thanksgiving Day, I applied action to one of my bucket list goals!!
I, Abigail Hunter, ran my 1st 5K AND talked my family into doing it with me!!
Yep, I’m that family member that finds new things for us to do.☺ They fuss, but love me for it in the end.
I’ve wanted to participate in a race for a few years now.
I’d look into one, but discourage myself for not being fast enough or not quite physically ready. Self-sabotage is real.
However, I continued to persevere and still had time to catch one before the year was out.
I’d heard about this race on Thanksgiving Day called the Turkey Trot a few years ago. I looked into it again.
What I loved most about what I read is that any age was welcomed to do it and I saw families doing it together!
So I pitched it to my family. Whew.
There was definitely hesitation, because this would be their first 5k too, but I made it sound so good and fun and most of all, a family thing. The power of persuasion.☺
(I would’ve been a great lawyer.)
We signed up the week of, AND we got a discount because we signed up as a family!
Then, the race began!
I put no expectation on myself for running under a certain time. I just enjoyed my run, and that made my whole experience stress free.
My only desire was to run without stopping.
It was such a beautiful day and it was really cool running with others.
When I run, it’s usually just me and my dog so this was a nice change.
I got through this run by staying in a mindset of gratitude the whole time.
I thanked God for the feet I was able to run with, the arms I was able to pump with, to the jacket I wore to keep warm. I made it a great experience.
It was really beautiful seeing all walks of life in the race: Parents running with their children, grandparents, people pushing strollers, and moms pushing their children in wheelchairs. Touched my heart.
As I saw the signs for the finish line, I reached in my jacket pocket, glossed my lips up…as I was still running...fluffed up my puff, and got ready to finish this race with a bang while being camera ready because I knew camera people were at the finish line! (I am who I am lol)
I took my phone out of my fanny pack and begin recording my last few minutes of the race for my social media platforms.
As you can see, I finished with a big smile on my face and my brother, greeted me at the finish line, clapping for me☺ FYI, he started a little before me lol.
We got metals at the end which was a nice surprise.
After my brother and I finished running, we walked back to find our mom and walked the rest of the race she had left. Knowing my mom, of course she made friends along the way lol. We met her walking buddies and we had fun powering walking...(she just made me change it to say she "trotted" across, not power walked LOL) to the finish line as a family.
This was such a pleasant way to start of our Thanksgiving Day. We took “after” pictures with our friends, ate oranges and bananas that were provided, and eventually left to enjoy the rest of our holiday.
So, I ask you, when is the last time you’ve checked something off your bucket list? If it’s been a while, don’t sweat it, you have been given another day at life to achieve anything you desire!
XOXO ABnormally Ab
Put below in the comments the last bucket list moment you had!
Oh, and check out BTS (behind the scenes) Clips on my Instagram page highlights!
Health is very imperative to me. From being a childhood athlete to teaching sports/dance and consistently working out myself, exercise plays a big role in my life. I’ve had gym memberships in the past, but at the moment, I utilize the beautiful parks in my area and truly enjoy the company of nature…well most of it! Lol.
When I run, most of the time it’s with my dog, Sable. If not, I’m by myself.
Now, if you personally know me, you know how tough I am.
However, even tough ole me is smart and I carry various protection along with me while running each day.
Have you ever heard of the saying “Work smart, not hard?” That’s how I feel about exercising with protection.
Yeah, I’m tough as nails, but I like to have products that can do most of the work for me so I don’t have to break a nail. :)
Now, my mom introduced me to these products because she did not like me running by myself in a city away from her especially as a female. From there, our friend Denise, invited us to a small meet-up telling us more about this company that sells products for protection.
The company is called Damsel In Defense.
Suchhhhh a cute name! I listened to various stories of how these products helped some women in situations, and took a look at all the products they offer.
I was in love. I was in love with the products and in love with the fact that someone cared enough to make SUPER cute and disguisable products to protect women. I was very impressed.
Ever since then, I carry their products with me everywhere I go.
So let’s see what I carry and the purpose of them:
1: Sock It To Me Striking Tool – Increases the power of any defensive strike.
2: Pepper Spray – Shoots up to 16 feet.
What I love most is that they’re SO fashionable and functional. That’s a win-win in my book.
No, this isn’t sponsored content; I just wanted to share the knowledge someone gave me and pass it along.
There’s so much going on in this world right now, and I want all of us as women to feel comfortable and protected as much as possible.
If you like the products, pass this post along and share the knowledge! Let’s keep each other protected!
Those are the words I ask myself every day right before I work out.
It’s been my fitness motto for over 7 years now and gets me out of bed on those days when my covers are winning over workouts.
I’ve always been an athletic person.
I did gymnastics for nine years. That’s the foundation of my fitness. I’ve also enjoyed playing volleyball, softball, cheerleading, dancing, stepping, etc.
Besides sports, I find joy in taking care of my body through exercise. It’s also an immense stress reliever for me.
However, I haven’t always had the accessibility to a gym that I desired.
Being the determined little cookie I am, I always find a way!
Here are a few examples:
I yearned for more of a workout than I was getting just at school in P.E. or with my current sport.
I brainstormed for a bit and remembered that my mom gifted me with two Beyonce concert DVD’s just because. (Love you, Mom!)
So! I turned what used to just entertain me, into a workout! I learned the choreography and danced full out in my mom’s basement every night. I’d also sing along especially when I was tired to engage my core.
It was so much fun, I never felt like I was working out.
During my freshman year in college, I had to find a new normal with everything in life, including a workout plan. Unfortunately, at my university, the team athletes always hogged up the gym and track; so that left me and others with no place to exercise. I REFUSED to gain the “Freshman 15,” ( An expression commonly used referring to weight gain during a student's 1st year of college) so you know I was going to find a way.
I stayed in C.J. Dunn Towers, a dorm that has twelve floors. You guessed it, at night time, I ran those twelve flights of steps to keep myself in shape. Sometimes I ran the steps with friends, but often times by myself when they weren’t up for it. I remembered my motto and got it done.
I shared all this to say, your health comes first. There are so many creative ways to workout…FIND ONE.
Be intentional with your fitness. If you love helping other people, workout to be strong enough for them.
If you ever need encouragement on those days when your covers feel incredible against your skin, just ask yourself...”If Beyonce Calls me tomorrow to dance for her…Am I ready?
P.S. If Beyonce asked me to dance for her, it would be uh YES! Until that happens, I live vicariously through her dancer Dnay B.! If anybody can pull those strings...let me know:)
Why do you workout?
To look good naked?
So you won't be a burden on anyone when you get older?
To be able to keep up with your children or when you have them?
Or to just look and feel good?
Whatever the case may be, make it intentional.
I found that when I set an intention of why I'm working out, it made it so much easier on those days when I really wanted sleep in or skip a day.
I workout to be strong for my mom, my family, friends, and future children. I will strive to continually take care of my temple to the best of my ability...and let's be honest, to look good in my birthday suit lol!
I challenge you to set your intention for taking care of yourself. Your future self will thank you.
